Similar to a PEO, except each client company retains its own Federal Tax ID number for reporting taxes on employee wages. A common misconception is that a company must be an ASO in order for its client companies to retain their own workers comp polices. PEOs can contract to administer individual workers comp policies while reporting taxes on employee wages under the PEO’s Federal Tax ID number.
